Can Babies Get Too Much Love from Siblings?

I can't believe Maeve is 7 weeks old already! The big kids love her! This morning as they were climbing on the bed competing for her attention and I tried to brush my hair, get dressed, etc. while keeping a close eye on the baby, I found myself happy that my older kids have embraced our new baby so easily. They are constantly touching and talking close to Maeve. I have a "rule": touch her hair or her feet---no face. Of course this rule is constantly being tested =) It is seemingly impossible to keep her totally safe from too much love. I've decided that babies with older siblings who love too much have secret "ninja" powers. I'm convinced that the baby lays there looking cute and helpless when an adult is watching, but the second adult eyes are averted, the baby goes into protect mode. Any sibling hand, foot, head or toy hurled toward the baby is stopped by the baby's cat-like quickness to block. Seriously, I feel blessed that my kids are so happy to have another sibling. I believe having them so involved in the pregnancy was the key....Amy "Breastfeeding is best!"
